Jaisalmer Fort is popularly known as  Golden Fort of Rajasthan. It was built by Raja Jaisal, Rajput who was the ruler in the year 1156 AD. It is counted among the largest forts in the world. The fort looks magical because of the golden and yellow mixed sandstone.   Among the deserts, this fort is a must visit especially during the night as it gives the glimpse of heaven. The Fort is tall and stands firm. It depicts the real culture of Rajasthan.

Bada Bagh which literally means  ‘Huge Garden’. It was constructed in the period of Maharawal Jait Singh’s that is in the 16th century. After his death, the construction was completed by his son Lunakaran. The garden serves as a monument where the aristocrats and their families were cremated. The garden offers the incredible view. It is an isolated place. During sunrise and sunset, this place looks fabulous.

Desert Safari is the most liked activity if you really want to explore the desert. Sam Sand Dunes is the perfect location to go for Desert Safari. The safari on camelback that would take you along crests and troughs will make you fall in love with the journey. In the month of February to March special desert festivals are organized. If you visit during that time then you will surely spot folk dances, camel race, and other such cultural events.

Gadisar Lake is just a kilometer away from the fort. Raja Rawal Jaisal who was the first ruler of the land constructed this fort and later on reconstruction was done by Maharawal Garsi in the year 1367 AD. The For the water needs people of the city depend on this lake. Around the banks of this lake, you will find temples, Holy shrines, and Chatteris. The pleasingly carved entrance made of yellow sandstone gives a perfect view.

Jain temples are located inside the Jaisalmer Fort has a series of temples which are dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras and can be traced back to the 12th century. The temple is famous for the typical architectural style modeled after the Dilwara temple of Mt. Abu. Wonderfully engraved and well interrelated, these temples are a visualization to behold and are totally made up of yellow sandstone.
