Panch Pandav Gufa

The Panch Pandav Gufa, situated in Lalghati near the Temple City of Somnath is typically a temple revered by the followers of Hinduism. This cave has a temple dedicated to the Pandavas. The temple was built by the late Baba Narayandas in the year 1949.The temple inside the cave was built in dedication of the five Pandava brothers but also has shrines in honour of Shiva, Sita Ma, Ram-Laxman, Lord Hanuman and Goddess Durga.

According to legend, the Pandavas sought refuge in these particular caves when Hingaj Mata appeared in front of them and promised them protection. There are various caves in the vicinity among which the Panch Pandava cave is dedicated to the Pandavas. Along with it, there is the Vyas Gufa, Hanuman Temple and Narayan Temple nearby.

Tourists often climb up the hill on which the temple is located — to get a breathtaking view of the sunset and spend some time in the soothing precincts of this temple. The Panch Pandav Gufa bears testimony to several Muslim invasions which destroyed the Temple of Somnath and looted its rich treasures and wealth. Tourists and pilgrims visit Panch Pandav Gufa to offer their prayers to Lord Rama, Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga.
