The Thakbari Temple is situated on MG Road is the Gangtok. It is one of the oldest temples in the city. It was built in 1935 by Sir Thutop Namgyal, the former Maharaja of Sikkim. In 2011 the complex of the temple was upgraded by including a multipurpose hall and a library in it.
