About Kala Bhavan
Kala Bhavana Institute of Fine Arts is a prominent foundation of instruction and research in visual expressions, established in 1919, it is the expressive arts personnel of the Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan, built up by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Upon its foundation in 1919, Tagore welcomed noted painter Nandalal Bose, and supporter of Abanindranath Tagore, the organizer of Bengal school of workmanship development, to wind up first chief of the establishment. In the coming years stalwarts like Benode Behari Mukherjee and Ramkinkar Baij progressed toward becoming related with school, and in time gave another heading to the establishment as well as to the cutting edge Indian painting. The school likewise has a craftsmanship historical center displaying models, frescoes and wall paintings and a library of workmanship books.
