India’s First Cruise Service Starts from Mumbai to Goa

The first domestic cruise vessel service, Angriya, will begin from Mumbai’s new domestic cruise terminal on a test run on Wednesday at 5 pm and arrived at Goa on Thursday morning.

There are seven categories of room available out of which people can choose according to their pocket. People can also two scrumptious meals, and a brunch, and swim in the pool on the open deck while gazing at the vast Konkan coastline. The ship’s staff, and its sailor-owner, Captain Nitin Dhond, will also amuse you with interesting stories about the region’s history.

The cruise vessel comprises of a lounge, attached to one of the restaurants that can be used for celebrations such as wedding receptions to corporate conferences and offshore business meetings.

Angriya is owned by Angriya Sea Eagle Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sea Eagle Cruises. This is a company which aims to help eco-tourists learn about the biodiversity of Goa. The cruise focuses to tap the holiday travel market, with local and foreign tourists in mind.

Naturally, this is not a pocket-friendly option. A base-price ticket aboard this vessel will cost you around Rs 7,000 or more. Sea Eagle’s Director, Siddharth Newalkar, explained the Financial Express that the pricing is still not fixed. According to him, once the marketing strategy is complete, price points will be set. Schedules and timings of the cruise would also be set once the test run is done.
