1. Goa Tourism Deptt. to Promote Monsoon Festivals
Goa always remains the highly preferred tourist spots for travelers all through the year. However, during monsoon season the place witness less footfall due to heavy rainfall. Considering this fact, this year Goa tourism department has decided to gain the attention of travelers by welcoming them at the traditional monsoon festivals celebrations. This will definitely increase the footfall of domestic and international visitors at the coastal state. Officials said that hotels are almost 70% full and Goa is experiencing the decent crowd even during the off-season this year.
Officials also say that the increased demand is due to the aggressive marketing strategy adopted by tourism department. The tourist department has introduced various events and activities like trekking, white water river rafting etc for entertaining tourists. The Sao Joao festival will be started from 24th June and will be the reason for inspiring the travelers. Tourists will have an opportunity to celebrate Jackfruit festival at Succoro village, which is located 10 km away from Panaji. Along with these festivals, visitors will also have an opportunity to enjoy other festivals like Sangodd, Chikalkalo, Cucumber Feast, and Bonderam that are celebrated at few kilometers inside the coastal regions.
