Diamond Harbour

Diamond Harbor is a city and a region of South 24 Parganas region in the Indian State of West Bengal. It is arranged on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River where the waterway meets the Bay of Bengal. The Diamond Harbor Police District is in charge of law authorization in the city. Prior known as Hajipur, this area was named Diamond Harbor by the British albeit presently there are no docks or breakwaters in this region, aside from as a major aspect of the remnants of a stronghold. It used to be viewed as a safe resting spot for oceangoing boats and had perspectives of the stream.

After the Rupnarayan River joins the Hooghli River, the stream twists south and enlarges out to a shape a gigantic spread of water. Somewhat further down, the Haldi River goes along with it. In prior days Diamond Harbor was a fortification of Portuguese privateers. The remnants of the fortification of Chingrikhali privately known as Purano Kella can even now be seen. There is an old beacon nearby. Diamond Harbor Municipality was built up in 1982; 36 years prior.
