Coimbatore

Coimbatore also knew as Kovai located on the banks of the Noyyal River and surrounded by the Western Ghats is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. In 1868, the Nilgiris District was bifurcated from the Coimbatore District.

With its historic landmarks and buildings, wildlife reserves, cultural and art centres and parks, Coimbatore offers many interesting locations to visitors. Coimbatore cuisine is predominantly south Indian with rice as its base. Trips to Coimbatore tend to be pretty fleeting, however, with visitors using it as a convenient jumping-off point for adventures across the south.
