Bible Tower

The Bible Tower is situated in Thrissur town of Kerala, India. It become inaugurated on 7 January 2007. The tower is the tallest church tower in India and Asia. It is also the tallest shape in entire of Kerala. The 79 metre tower stands at the back of two towers of 42.5 metres height. The building has been certified as earthquake-proof by way of officers of the Geology Department of India. The red go at the top of the Bible Tower is lit to "show the presence of the Roman Catholic Church in Thrissur". It can be visible from anywhere within the Thrissur metropolis.

In the tower you will see childhood of Christ carved in timber, restoration of Jesus depicted in stained glass, miracles of Jesus in brass, sufferings of Jesus Christ in oil paints, stunning painting of apostles in terra cotta, mural paintings of the lifestyles history of St. Thomas, and wonderful resurrection of Jesus depicted in canvas. The foundation stone of the Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours was laid on 21 December 1929 by means of Mar Francis Vazhapilly, the overdue Archbishop of Thrissur. The church turned into blessed on 24 November 1940.
